Project Kinetica came about my desire for motion control hardware and software that could intergrate into Autodesk Maya. With the use of SolidWorks I went on to design a "clamp" for my Philip Bloom Pocket Dolly, which led to this project coming about. Over time this page will be updated with the latest additions to the project as well as an insight to how the system works.

In 2011 I was asked if I could produce two images to represent Alias Automotive and Alias Surface for 2012. What a fantastic opportunity to follow Daniel Simon's covers of the same nature from the year before. With this privellage I quickly fired up 3dsmax and Vray and rendered away.

HONDA
During my time at Delineate, we were asked to generate content for Honda Australia. All cad was modelled in house by our team using Alias, which was then used in brochures, websites, configurators, animations etc.

THALES
Thales was a fun project. Usually automotive images entail glossy paints, pretty city backgrounds and even reflections. Not in the case of the Thales Hawkei; dirt, wear and tear and dust were part of the brief. This was naturally challenging as it was so different to what I usually do. The camouflage was particularly tricky. Typically with a polygon model I would unwrap the vehicle and UV map the camo, however the mesh was created from CAD data and it was quite difficult slice and unwrap. In the end we rendered out three colours and manually masked the camo in post. Below are a few selected renderings from a range of images we did for Thales Australia.
